After a fantastic conversation with 7th and 8th grade on Google Meet, I want to repeat some information as well as allow the fellow artists that weren't able to join in to get a little insight to what is going on so far.

Four things that you will need to be fully function in the virtual first semester.

1) Some way to get a hold of all of your teachers for now until everything is working correctly.

2) Unified Classroom/Powerschool Log In.  Don't sweat it if your log in does not work yet, we can work around that.

3) A school email- for now any email will work but we want you to be able to get into your school email.  My school email doesn't currently work so I will communicating with you at times on my personal email.

For now I can FaceTime with you if you have a cell phone and we will try to meet using an email link with Google Meet to get things started.

4) Edgenuity- We will get going in Edgenuity for classwork soon but not our priority at the moment.

Math First Day Task:

(you only have to do this assignment once even though you will see it posted in your Science Class, you will get credit for it in both classes)

Look over the Introduction Letter in the Unified Classroom Assignments: Knowing Your Classroom

and answer these 5 questions from it:

1) What is my phone number to text me?

2) What is the blog address I use to show you additional support?

3) What do I like in my coffee (just kidding)?  No seriously, ask me in one of our meetings or find it in the class introduction letter. Ok, I am kinda kidding.

4) Name 3 things I would suggest for class materials.

5) Can you fix or makeup assignments?

If you need the word document showing this information be sure to text or send me an email so I can send it to you.

You can send this task to me via, text, email or right in Unified.

Homeroom First Day Task:

Going into your Homeroom Tab in Unified you should find the assignment Superpowers vs. Kryptonite

What are your 4 greatest strengths? (example: math, dancing, digital art, soccer0

What are your greatest weaknesses? (example: tie a shoe correctly, jumping rope, social studies, talking in public)

You can also text, email or send to me in Unified

Any questions?  Please ask.

Hello artists and any/all mildly interested in things to come!

Welcome to my blog.

I use this as a resource to simply be of help when help might not always be easily available.

I will post assignments here, give you ideas or try to show you how to develop concepts.

Monday August 31st is here.  We officially start school.

But how?  How do we start school?

To be quite honest, not everything or everyone is quite ready and that is fine.  We will build this up and move right along.  Nothing to worry about, it will happen and all will be well.

My objective is to show you your schedule and try to find a way to connect with you today.

You will have a school email even if it isn't working yet.

You will have access to Unified Classroom and we will start the day using the texting feature there to communicate until we establish a way to talk online face to face.  We will figure this out together.

MONDAY and THURSDAY SCHEDULE

This is an example of what an 8th grader's schedule looks like.  On the left side is my schedule.  On the right is an 8th graders.  You can ignore and change the dinner, chores etc. stuff. This is an overall schedule to keep things in order.  If you are a 7th grader you will simply witch ELA and Math around.  7th graders have Math first, ELA later.

TUESDAY AND FRIDAY SCHEDULE

This is again a schedule ready for 8th graders.  The right side is yours, the left side is mine.  The only change for 7th graders to this is that 7th graders will have Science first and Social Studies second.  The classes are color coded and show what time the class starts.  You can zoom in on the picture if you click on the picture.

WEDNESDAY (SELF-PACED) SCHEDULE

You have some work to do and have opportunity here to get caught up or ask questions.
7th grader flip flop ELA and Math.

Also flip flop S.S. and Science.

Hope to see you, talk to you, text with you in some kinda way today.

Take care

and until next time...

See ya!
